Our Mission

Futureproof Bama is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to help the state of Alabama prepare for the transition period for when robotics, artificial intelligence, and other autonomous innovations will make most traditional work obsolete.

Education is the foundation of Futureproof-ing Alabama. First, educate Alabamians on the coming workforce crisis. Second, educate about the jobs that will still be available. Finally, help provide educational and training opportunities for the residents of Alabama.

What is this Workforce Crisis?

There is growing evidence to show that in the next ten to fifteen years, jobs, as we know them, will undergo a dynamic change.

The fourth industrial revolution jumpstarted by robotics and the innovations in artificial intelligence, and workforce automation has pushed the world into a global manufacturing arms-race.

These incredible technological discoveries while revolutionizing businesses, also have the potential to create a massive displacement of jobs.

How Does Being Innovative Futureproof Alabama?

An essential piece of Futureproofing Alabama is to continue to foster the growing innovation culture that is sprouting up across the state.  The efforts of groups like The Innovation Depot (Birmingham), TechBirmingham (Birmingham), RocketHatch (Huntsville), and the Alabama Launchpad are bringing the startups and the innovators to the state.

Innovation of this type will be required if Alabama wants to have a leg up on the changes that will be driving the economy of the future.
